The Woodlands offers excellent schools with high academic ratings.  There are many new campuses including a recently opened second high school. Teacher to pupil ratio remains quite low. The Woodlands consistently ranks at or near the top of schools in the Greater Houston area.

Schools in The Woodlands are part of the Conroe Independent School District (CISD), Exceptions are May Valley and Creekside. Currently there are 2 High Schools, 1 9th Grade School, 2 Junior High Schools, 3 Intermediate Schools and 10 Elementary schools within the Conroe Independant School District.

In addition, there are several private schools, both secular and non-secular.
